Mito Bekriyo

Midnight - time for sleeping.  But I
stand on the balcony, waiting to
open the door to you.  You
promised, but you do not come to
me.  You spend the night at the
tavern with your buddies, drinking
and singing.  Take me to your
home, and I will make your heart
glad.
This is Serbian folk-pop.  We
played this at the Serbian festival
in Cambridge, and every woman
there was singing along.  (The
men were studiously looking down
in their beer glasses.)
One woman told us this song is from
her
village in Montenegro ... and she
even knows the guy!  But we are quite
sure it is by a composer in central
Serbia, in the style of a town in south
Serbia.

So ...?

Perhaps there is more than one guy
like this ....
